Lately while I've been at work, which is kinda where I'm at right now, I've managed to really...really...stumble upon some of the greatest things every. I'm usually never sure how I manage to find these things, but once I do...They are the greatest websites ever!
Outside of the "Healthy Skin" where I found a youtube video explaining all of that and thought I would help share that information, I've found other great sites. For hair and makeup. We all know that I'm a girly girl, and even though I hate glitter (thank to the guard girls who loved it -.-), I love shimmery!
Okay, so I found found XSparkage . She does a million makeup tutorials that I totally love, even if I would have never to have put stuff like that together or would have had the balls to wear it out in public. If I had the stash that she had, I'd totally wear some of the stuff!
Next is Carah Amelie. She too does makeup tutorials, but she also does a lot of hair turtorials. She's an all in one kinda girl! She doesn't just use just the high end name brands (let's face it, growing up in Macon County I'd only dreamed of going to a MAC counter or owning something from Urban Decay), but she uses the stuff you can buy at Drug Stores.
Both ladies are super honest about how they feel about products. And also, they both do the Birchbox thing that I REALLY want to try out. I'm trying to convince Spencer into letting me do it! For those that don't know about the Birchbox, it's a company that sends you a box for $10 every month. In that box contains anywhere from 4-5 samples, and sometimes the samples are huge! I want to do this SO bad. Because once you get the samples, you do a review on their website, you earn points which you can use towards awesome gifts. Again...I want to do this!!!!
I've also tried loads of their tips, and I'd have to say...my makeup looks awesome! :) I know that I really need to update my collection of makeup as well as get some new stuff, like brushes or palettes.
So, since I've managed to watch tons of their videos, I've tried things that I never thought would work. Like, metal colors. Even though I have hazel (more towards the green end), they look effing amazing on me! If you enjoy sitting infront of a mirror every morning doing your makeup and don't mind spending time to do it, I would totally check these girls out!
Also, I found this one on youtube. It was how to cut my own hair (which I totally did xD). Her name is Rosa Russo. She's super cute and also does hair and makeup tutorials, but is also from Canada.
So, that's my new obsession...being vain! Lol

General
Today has nothing to do with wedding stuff. Sorry guys. But, I am going to make a general update for those that do know me and like me. Heh.
So yesterday, Spencer and I made an appointment for me to go and look around at a school in Nashville. Not just any school...but an art school. That's right folks...ART school!
So, having the Clay name means I'm already going to be late (we ended up being 30 minutes because a. I really need to cut my hair-which I did myself- and b. it was on the other side of Nashville and we took the long way-could have went threw Hermitage and saved 15 minutes). Anyways, we get there around 7 (1900 hours), and meet up with Frank who is the recruiter. He's super awesome! Come to find out, he too went to CU and hated it! xD
We didn't leave the school until 9:48 (2148 hours). It's amazing. There are so many different things I could do and I totally can't wait to get started. I'm really going to have to look up places where I can get scholarships or grants, because I don't want to pay $24,000 a year for school. Even if it's awesome and they have great programs and wonderful studios...
So, as we were finished with the tour (which I ran into Lici Bolton while I was there and totally not surprised to see her) and we're walking back to the car, Spencer stops me. He turns me around and tells me that...if this is something that I really want to do, then he'll back me up and go into debt for me. I wanted to cry! Thank you for being so supportive in everything!
But because we have the wedding coming up (several of them to attend as well as our own), I won't be able to go to school until after May of next year. So that'll give me plenty of time to look up scholarship and things for grants. That is, if I'm able to make it in.
I told Frank, the recruiter, up front about why my GPA was so low, and told him that I graduated high school with a 2.74 (which is a B- ). He said that after I submit my application that I'll need to write an essay and explain everything that happened, and the reason for my really low GPA.
Not to mention, that when I'm done with school, I'll have a degree. Let me say that again... I'LL HAVE A DEGREE!!! Who knew...I'll have the degree in Art...who guessed that lovely twist for the Clay sisters? Haha! The one that drew all the time is going to be a Dental Assistant and the one that was college bound is going for the Art Program. Ah, the irony. :)
Anyways...Wish me luck, and if you have any suggestions as to where I might start looking for grants/scholarships, hit me up and let me know!

Creating the Menu
One of the biggest challanges for bringing a wedding together is creating our menu. You would think it would be super easy. Pick something you throughly enjoy and go with it.
I'm also loving the idea that we'll be able to make all of these things at home! Not to mention...who doesn't like Italian?! Crazy people...that's who!
But then you have to take into account those that might have food allergies (such as peanuts or shell fish). What if someone's a vegitarian? Or they just don't eat red meat?
For us, it was a little bit more complex to find the right balance of things. Spencer and his family mainly grew up on the West Coast and their eating habbits mainly deal with the surf side of menus. My family is from the Mid-West area (I'm never sure why it's really called that since it's more east than it is west...) and therefore grew up on the turf side.

Fettachini Alfredo |
Certain members of my family like seafood, while others think it tastes like rubber-along with mushrooms...which his family loves! Making the right balace is really hard...

Tomato with Meat Sauce |
Once Spencer, my mom, and myself finally sat down and talked about it...we came up with Italian (if you read both my blog and my sister's...you're gonna swear that we're trying to out do one another. Really...we're not. It's just a common ground thing-we both like Italian food...). Because I'll have more people to feed, and it's kinda cheap (more so when you shop at Sam's where everything is sold in bulk), we figured we'd go with some Fettachini Alfredo, a regular tomato sauce, MAYBE a meat tomato sauce, with your choice of adding mushrooms, broccoli, and chicken or shrimp (everyone likes things with choices).

Honeymoon
Magic Kingdom |
Yes, I did recently just visit (by recently I mean my Senior year in high school). As much fun as I had with the other Princesses (yes, Jordan, you too are officially a princess xD ), I think that this time will be more...MAGICAL, than before.
![]() |
Animal Kingdom Villas-Jambo House |
Because I'm the one doing all the planning, we're going to make sure we hit each park. I really did enjoy being about to spend time at each one, but for me, it was too short on our last visit. I want to be able to spend the whole day at that park to explore and see what other things I missed out on last time.
![]() |
Animal Kingdom |
Also, Spencer and I have been talking about which Disney Resort we'd like to stay at. We're both leaning towards Animal Kingdom's Villas- Jambo House or something along those lines. After looking at all the other rooms, we both feel that the Animal Kingdom lodgings are better suited for adults. Not to mention, how cool would it be waking up and walking out to the balcony to see Giraffs walking by? I think it would be amazing.

Epcot |

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth |
As I said before, I plan to visit all four parks and the water parks, so it's looking like we'll be in Florida for at least 6 night/7 days. I would totally love that! Even thought I still have a while, like 290 days, until the wedding, I'm still rather looking forward to this honeymoon.
![]() |
Downtown Disney |
It'd be like our own vacation. Really it'd be our first vacation together alone. Every time we take one, we end up having friends go with us to help split the cost of rooms and gas. So, this will be a lovely change of pace.
I am just glad that I'll be able to spend the first week of my married life with the man I love in the place I hold dear to my heart. I'm super excited about it!
![]() |
![]() |
I also can't wait to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot again. It was super cool the first time I'd seen it and can't wait to see it again! Also, a new thing that they've added onto Downtown Disney, which is where most of my shopping and our eating will problably be done at, is the Cirque du Soliel: La Nomba. Even if I find clowns slightly on the creepy side, I must say, I really want to go and see this. I think I'm more of the artsy-fartsy kinda person.
![]() |
Fantasmic! |
Last time I was at Disney we were walking around Disney's MGM Hollywood Studios when we seen the time and missed the new Fantasmic! which was happening. Instead my fellow Princesses and I just continued walking around the streets of Hollywood Studios shopping. I really want to go and see it this time!
![]() |
Planet Hollywood Orlando |
Because Spencer's never been to Planet Hollywood, I want to take him there while we're in Downtown Disney. I think that he'll love it, since he's a big nerd anyways. Most of the stuff in there isn't just Disney related things, but all things related to movies.
Because both of us are big kinds, and going to be spending time at these theme parks, we must not forget the water parks. I'll just need to remember to pack lots and lots of sun screen for the poor pasty skinny white guy. Lol.
![]() |
Typhoon Lagoon |
If I rememer correctly, that last time that we (being me with my high school band) went, we were able to go from Blizzard Beach to Typhoon Lagoon with no problem. I really hope that it's that way!

Blizzaed Beach |
I know I really over did it with the pictures, but I figured that if I didn't, you wouldn't catch my excitement about going to Disney World for the Honeymoon, which has been my favorite thing in planning so far!
Healthy Body
Since I did the Healthy Skin blog, I've really thought about doing this one. Being me, I was trying to figure a skillful way I could do this without offending other types of readers (aka, those that aren't family or really close friends).
Before I get started on this, I need to mention that I think that EVERYONE has their own choice on how they look. We all have ideals of ourselves. Most of the time, I'm shocked by the person that I see in the mirror because it doesn't reflect how I feel or see myself on the inside.
Keeping that in mind, I've tried several different things only to end up crashing and burning. I'm the type of person that has to have instant gratifaction. It's really bad when you're trying to change your outside. I know that's the reason why I've managed to fail about every diet or exercise plan I've ever been on. Until now. At the beginning of February I was approached by Vicki, Spencer's mom, and asked if I would like to join Weight Watchers with her. (If you haven't noticed, the best things that work out for me are things that I end up saying to myself-"What've I got to lose?")
Because of the move we've recently had, I've not been able to work out as much as I would have liked. Whether it was from packing boxes or getting settled in and just getting accustomed to everything, I wasn't doing much in the way of trying to lose this extra person I've been carrying around. Because I have 290 days (as of July 20th) before my wedding, I vow to change that!
Like I said, I've already been doing Weight Watchers since February, and already have seen a difference. The whole instant gratifaction thing is still there, and this program has helped me so much with that. Every week at the same time, I weight in. Once a week. And I see that number go down (or up depending on the week and broke-ness), but there's a change. 95% of the time, that number goes down. I'm not saying 2-3 lbs a week down, but down. That's all I care about is down! Already I've managed to lose 5% of my original body weight, and I couldn't be happier about it. Thinking that I've already lost about 15 lbs, and thinking about how BIG a difference 15 pounds is...well...that's just amazing. (For those that don't know me, I'm a very....curvy gal ;) )
Before I get started on this, I need to mention that I think that EVERYONE has their own choice on how they look. We all have ideals of ourselves. Most of the time, I'm shocked by the person that I see in the mirror because it doesn't reflect how I feel or see myself on the inside.
For years, Spencer has been asking me to do something about losing weight, not because he doesn't find me attractive or anything along those lines, because he wants me to live longer. He wants me to be around for a long time with him, to be happy and healthy for our future children.

Anyways, with that being said, I'm going to amp up my work outs. Not crazy hour long sessions every day, but just bring up the volume some. For example: Yesterday I went and rode the bike for 2.5 miles (would have gone longer if the stupid machine hadn't turned off on me), and then lifted some hand weights to help tone my arms. All in all, I was there for about 30 minutes. Tonight, after my W.W. meeting, I plan on going swimming and then going and working out some more. Maybe do a little bit on the eliptical and some slight jogging on the treadmill. Gotta tone what little of a booty I might have...who knows, maybe I'll make it up to be huge! xD

Bridesmaids
Having been a bridesmaid myself, and so far-not a bride (soon...very soon xD), I figured I'd tell my prep work for what I'm doing for my three bridesmaids. Keep in mind that before budget cuts I had this huge thing planned. I was going to have the top five females in my life (outside of my mom) standing up with me.
Since all of the budget cuts (I really hate those words...), I figured that I would have a classy yet...my way kind of wedding. I did want it to be semi-formal, but...alas the two words I hate saying...happened. So, I figured I'd ask the three ladies which they would rather do. Find dresses similar in color and style (like the picture above) or have me pick out a dress and they all wear the same.
Light purple |
The females have spoken! Similar dresses it is! :) Which is totally fine by me. I don't want anyone, even myself, to go bankrupt on this wedding. I figured that I'd post on here the colors of our wedding, so that the ladies have an idea of which one they'd like to do. Since there is three of them, I figured...Silver is pretty...well...silver and you can't mess that up, right?
Cornflower Blue |
Style I like #1 |
Spencer's favorite colour is Blue...so, to go along with the Kingdom Hearts colours we're going to go with a Cornflower Blue. It's light, the same colour of blue (if not a little lighter) than the blue that's in the logo for KH. Not to mention, it'll help compliment the purple and help the silver stand out (and Lydia...here's your gem colour XD).
Style I like #2 |
Style I like #3 |

Moogle |
Okay, enough on the cute plushies(and my nerdiness), I figured that as part of their gift from me would be the plushies. I know that two of the girls are not gamers and wouldn't fully get the plushie behind, so I'm coming up with other ideas to get each girl for their personalities. Make it a little more personal. :)
So, there you have it...my prep work for the bridesmaids...Like I said, would have had more if it wasn't for the blankity blanks.

Healthy skin
Okay, part of my preparations for this wedding is trying to clear up my skin. I have had a horrible time trying to keep my skin as clear as possible since...I started puberity. Even to this day, I have mild acne...It kills me. I'm almost a quarter of a century old, and I still have break outs like a 14 year old little girl!
A couple of weeks ago, I was looking up tutorials on ways to do makeup to try some things out, when I came across this. I couldn't believe it. But since I really had nothing to lose (my face already breaks out), so why not? Here it's only been a week and I can tell a major difference. Also since I'm trying to save money and all of the products that I found for this were stuff that I already had at home. I'm going to post what I've found and if you feel you should try it, do so. Just let me know how it works out for you. Like I've said...nothing but success for me!
Directions for the mask:
You'll need-
1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
2 teaspoons of Green Tea
7 teaspoons of Sugar (split)
1 teaspoon of Honey
Add Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea, and 5 teaspoons of Sugar in a bowl and combine together. Add Honey and stir. Add remaining Sugar and mix. Place all but 2 teaspoons in a glass jar (or any other type of container with a lid) and refridgerate.
To Use: Use a cotton pad to scup up the mask to absorb liquid. Just smear on and apply evenly. Use fingertips in a circle motion to coat evenly and exfloiate for 2-5 minutes. Let the mask set for another 10. After 10 minutes, rinse off mask with warm water as you gently exfoliate. Pat face dry. Skin's complexion should look brighter, and feel softer and firmer. Use 1-2 times a week for best results. Should notice a difference after 2 weeks.
There is also a toner to be used daily.
Fill a glass jar (or any other type of container with a lid) 1/3 of the way up with Apple Cider Vinegar. Fill the remaining 2/3 with Green Tea.
You can also add a teaspoon of Olive Oil for moisture benefits, or even a teaspoon of Lemon Juice or Tea Tree Oil to treat scars and acne even more.
Once combined in the jar, shake well. Both Toner and Mask should last two weeks in the fridge.
Apply the toner after using the mask to maximaze benefits. Use at night due to the smell. Take a clean cotton pad and apply a little and evenly to the most break out areas, such a T-Zone. Then use a moisterizer to pat on afterwords.
Hope this works out for you guys! Let me know what you think!

Yay! Cheap-ness!
Yay for cheap-ness. I am so lucky to have all these people helping me out! When you sit down and start planning a wedding, you don't realize how much really goes into one. Outside of the decorations, I am super lucky, not to mention really glad, that I know these people with all kinds of different work backgrounds.
Since this blog is about the Prep of the wedding, I'm going to have to go into those details. Outside of venues and caterers, the next big ticket item that people worry about is their cake. I'm lucky enough that my wonderful Aunt is going to make mine. Now, I found this awesome picture and thought... "!"
I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO!!! Yay for wonderful gamer nerds who've gotten married before.
Because we're doing Kingdom Hearts and are wanting to stick to the theme as much as possible, we've thought about several different things we could do for the wedding cake. We thought about doing something this extreme with the cake by doing different worlds and having them sticking out, but then for the amount of people that we are going to have show up, that would be a waste of time and of cake. Now, who really wants to waste wedding cake? Really?!
So, looking around at different Kingdom Hearts things, I found this and thought...Hmm, yes, that would totally work! It's very simple, and covers the different worlds rather well in it's own...KH kinda style. :)
What we're going to do is have the "Secret Cave" drawings up on the outside of the cake. For those that have never played the game, it kinda gives a very vague idea of what the game is all about. Since we're only doing it in three different layers, we can make the spaces between the pictures smaller. For the top tear, we'll have the cave drawing of Sora and Kairi giving each other the Paopu Fruit, with the topper being a Paopu Fruit.
I know I keep saying I'm excited, but...it's the truth!
Our officiant is going to be Spencer's sister's husband's brother. Did you follow that? :) Daniel is Spencer's brother-in-law's brother and is a minister up in Michigan. Daniel and Spencer are also really good friends, so it makes things like this super easy. He's such a nice guy and I can't wait to sit down and have that "talk" with him when he comes into town next month.
For the photographer, my Uncle is going to be the best. I wouldn't want to bring anyone else in to do this. He is wonderful with the pictures he's taken, and they are very similar as to how I want my style of pictures. I'm kinda the type of person to go with "in the moments" instead of posed. :)

Our Theme
As I said in the last one, our wedding theme is Kingdom Hearts. I'm super excited about it! I just wish that our budget would allow us to be able to do everything that I wanted to do with it. It sucks being broke.
So, for the venue...Spencer and I decided to have it at my parents' house. They have plenty of land and the lighting for an outside wedding is wonderful. So for the arriving guests, we plan on having fans in the many different worlds for people, as well as a light path with ground paper lanterns. Kinda like this ->
The only difference is that they will be blue with stars and moons to look like Mickey's Hat from the Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia. I've already got several made, and really hope they turn out well.
We are also planning on decorating around the tables where the food is going to be out. Because we're also having the reception in my parents' basement/garage (which we are going to decorate), there isn't much room for everything to have assigned tables. However there will be places to sit and eat. Along the tables, there will be many different things that we will pull straight from the game or things that make us think of certain Disney movies.
Not only above is a picture of Mickey, but I am in the middle of making the broom to have them holding buckets. They will be mini and will sit on the tables that are there. The one I have (and need to finish) already looks super awesome and I'm really excited about them.
For this bad boy, I plan on trying my hand at sculting. Even though it might be stirofoam (however you spell it), I still want to make a mini bust for Aladdin. I think it'd be really cool to do, if I can get it to look right. Not to mention, trying to find a magic lamp seems out of the question. :)
Spencer and I have talked about putting little things on the tables for people to eat while they wait for us to take pictures (we promise it won't be any longer than 30 minutes). Several ideas have came into our head that deal with cookies. And they seem like they'd be super fun to make as well as eat. Hehe.
The other day I was looking around on DIY sits for wedding themes when I cam across a notical theme. I really liked this idea of how they did their guest book and changed it up a bit. I think it'd be rather cute to do a keyblade that everyone can sign instead of a book that could easily get lost. We've even talked about how we would make it and everything. I'm rather excited about it...Can you imagin, me...with a power tool. Ha! But, I think it'd be awesome!
Tell me what you think! Tootiles!
The beginning.
Okay, I orginally got started on this back in November of last year, and was trying to use my phone, when...wouldn't you know it...my phone wouldn't let me post anything...EVER...on this site.
So, for the next little while, I'm going to make a monster blog entry about everything going on so far. So, let's start from the beginning. :)
HI!!!!! I'm Jen, most should already know this. The should also be aware that I'm planning a wedding for May 5, 2012. I have a reason for the day, and well...I've really not been asked to marry Spencer yet...BUT he does know that we are planning for that day. He also knows every bit of the planning I've gotten so far. Don't want to seem like the creepy girlfriend that's planning the wedding secretly behind his back. Lol
The reason why Spencer's not "officially" asked me yet, is mainly...he wants to do everything right. He wants to have a ring and have asked my dad and all that fun-ness. At the same time he knows the reason for the date and why it's so important to me.
Back in November, when I started this thing, Spencer and I had already set our theme: Kingdom Hearts. It's the best way to meet in the middle for the two of us, since we're both big gamers and both fans of Disney (more me than him, but still).
Before we started planning anything, I had Spencer sit down with me and come up with our "ideal" wedding. I told him to write EVERYTHING down that he could think of that he'll want for this day. After twenty minutes, we swapped papers. Keep in mind it was college rule lined pages. I had a complete page wrote out...he had three lines... -.-
Mostly, they dealt with gaming and Star Wars. Who would have guessed? Lol. Don't get me wrong, I like Star Wars, but I really don't want my wedding day to be about a guy that's dressed up as Darth Vader there, whether that guy is Spencer or not is not the point. I just don't want Star Wars, or Halo for that matter. Both of which he would love to have there.
After a couple of choice words and a slight arguement (about how I wanted Disney and he said no because he doesn't want people to think it's too cutesy or think of Tinker Bell with neon lime green and hot pink), I told him that I thought about doing Final Fantasy VII (since that's our FAVORITE game and how everything really started between us). He was totally gun ho about that. I liked that idea but at the same time wanted something more romantic.
Then I thought, best of both worlds, I can have my Disney and he can have video games and Final Fantasy by doing Kingdom Hearts. We both really enjoyed the game and both have KH tattoos. It seems perfect!
So there's that story! :)
So, for the next little while, I'm going to make a monster blog entry about everything going on so far. So, let's start from the beginning. :)
